The
Back Porch BBQ is a unique little restaurant in a unique
little town of Jacksonville Oregon. Wagon wheels, saddles,
and cowboy boots fill our restaurant with a western
feel that adds to the country theme of our food. We
encourage all comers to enjoy the decor and look over
the hundreds of pictures of old time cowboys from an
era long forgotten.
Here at the Back Porch BBQ, we take pride in cooking
our meats with wood heat alone. Oregon oak fuels our
fire, making a very rich and local wood smoked flavor.
You’ll taste it in our meats. Brisket, Ribs, Chicken,
and center cut Pork Loin cook for hours on end. It was
on numerous trips to the South, Midwest and Texas that
we learned the slow, patient cooking style. Often times
our brisket and pork will cook for over 16 hours, sealing
in the true smoke flavor.
B.T. and Sue Collins opened the doors of the Back Porch
BBQ in 1989 with a bucket of sauce and a dream. B.T.
used his southwestern culinary skills he learned from
his family, and added it to the traditional BBQ style.
The result is a menu filled with smoked meats, Lime
Grilled Chicken, Tequila Shrimp, our famous BBQ burger,
and many other dishes. The menu is large and diverse.
Most likely on any visit to the BBQ you’ll run
into Sue, voted best waitress ever, by all who know
her. We believe it’s the continuous input by Sue
and B.T. that makes our restaurant special.
On your next trip to Jacksonville, Oregon look us up;
where our motto is “BBQ is on - get it fore its
gone”.
